TTU NWI faculty affiliate Dr. Stephen B. Bayne, Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been inducted into the Teaching Academy at Texas Tech University for "outstanding performance in teaching and research."
Dr. Bayne reports that he is "inspired by working with students and seeing them grow and mature, and reach their sometimes challenging but attainable goals."
According to TTU Provost Dr. Lawrence Shovanec on the academy's website, the Teaching Academy plays a central role in promoting the scholarship of teaching, student learning, and in general, an academic culture that enhances Texas Tech's stature as a great university.
Dr. Bayne's research interests include power electronics, power semiconductor devices, renewable energy, and pulse power. He earned his Ph.D. from Texas Tech University and is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).
Other NWI faculty affiliates also included in the Teaching Academy roster are Dr. Stephen Ekwaro-Osire, Dr. Michael Giesselmann, Dr. Ken Rainwater, and Dr. Doug A. Smith
