Low Level Boundary Layer Profiler
Vertical atmospheric radar provides a detailed analysis of the lower boundary layer. The unit is linked with the West Texas Mesonet.
Real-time information such as wind speed, wind direction and virtual temperature measurements are obtained from this unit every 20 minutes. Bin spacing varies from 60-meters to 200-meters with alternating high and low power settings. The lowest bin is 150-meters AGL with the maximum height of 6 km AGL. This data is available in real-time from the MADIS web site.
