Guidelines for the Timely Completion of a High School Diploma
TTUISD is in session year-round. Our diploma students generally complete an average of one course per month or a total of 12 courses per year. This is less than the completion rate for a student enrolled in a traditional public or private school. We ask you to be diligent and complete lessons regularly during the summer months. As a minimum, we would like for you to stay with the proper grade level for your age.
We recommend you are enrolled in at least four to six courses at all times, and regularly submit a minimum of eight to 10 lessons per month. Also, enroll immediately in another course upon completion of a course or just before taking the final.

Graduation
If you need a final course grade to meet a specific deadline, plan to take your final at least 30 days prior to that deadline. You may complete the course very quickly, but it takes time for your lessons and examinations to be processed and graded. Allow five working days to process each lesson and at least 30 days after the day you take your final for your grade to be posted.
A student entering ninth grade in the 2007-2008 school year and thereafter shall enroll in the courses necessary to complete the curriculum requirements for the recommended 26-credit high school program unless the student, the student's parents, or other persons standing in parental relation to the student, and a school counselor or administrator agree that a student should be permitted to take courses under the minimum high school program of 22 credits. In order to receive a diploma from Texas Tech High School a student must complete 2.5 full course credits from the TTUISD program while enrolled as a TTUISD student. CBES are not full courses and do not satisfy the requirement.
Like any traditional high school, TTUISD High School has a graduation ceremony in Lubbock on the first Sunday of May each year. You are eligible to participate as a graduate if you complete all graduation requirements, all final tests are received and graded, and we have received your official TAKS scores by April 15. If you have completed 19.5 credits by April 15 and are enrolled in your last 2.5 credits of coursework before graduation - these credits must be full courses (not CBEs) and must be successfully completed and plan to complete them by September 1 - you are eligible to participate in the graduation ceremony as a summer graduate. If you cannot attend, your diploma will be mailed to you once all requirements are met.
TTUISD High School offers class rings, announcements, invitations, and caps and gowns through Herff Jones Company. You may contact the Herff Jones Company by phone at 806.744.7337, or by fax at 806.744.1744. In February of each year, we provide more detailed information to all students who have achieved senior status.
