You will be assigned an instructor who will grade all course assignments and examinations, provide feedback, and answer any questions about course content. Refer to the Course Guide and assigned materials, which contain special requirements for submitting each lesson.
General Information
Keep copies of lessons. Keep a copy of each assignment before submitting it. We will not give credit for assignments lost in transit.
Bar codes. You must use the correct bar code labels or information where required. Failure to use the correct bar code could result in delays. The last three digits of your bar code number should match the number of the lesson you are submitting. The accuracy of this number is important for recording receipt of your lesson grade.
First lesson essay. When submitting your first lesson, please include a brief essay about yourself and your interests on a separate sheet of paper. Also, include in your essay your reason for taking the course, your deadline for completion, and any special concerns you have.
Submit only one lesson at a time. We recommend that you submit assignments one at a time, so you have the benefit of your instructor's feedback before completing the next assignment. Some instructors require that you submit one lesson at a time, so read your instructions carefully.
Complete lessons. Only completed lessons will be graded. The instructor reserves the right to return a lesson suggesting or requiring it be resubmitted.

Methods of Submission and Grading Time
Fax and e-mail services are not available for certain courses. Submitting assignments via e-mail or fax may reduce transit time but will not shorten grading time. Beginning the day your lesson assignment is received in our office, instructors have five working days to evaluate your lesson. The graded lesson will then be returned by regular mail, so allow for mail time. Your grade will be available on the course portal the day after it is graded by your instructor. You must pay postage for lesson assignments mailed from outside the contiguous United States; however,
there is no additional fee for e-mailing or faxing assignments.
Submit lessons by mail. Staple a completed Lesson Cover Sheet to each assignment. Lesson Cover Sheets are available online. Use the postage-paid envelopes and bar codes when submitting your assignments via mail. Lesson Cover Sheets must be prepared neatly and legibly. The address label must be placed in the proper area on the cover sheet in order to process your lesson. If the address information is not correct on your bar code label, fill in the accurate address information on the Lesson Cover Sheet.
Submit lessons by fax. Fax the lesson and completed Lesson Cover Sheet to 806.742.7222. TTUISD students, fax to 806.742.7288. Lessons submitted via fax are returned via mail.
Submit lessons by e-mail. When submitting lessons via e-mail, take the information requested below directly from your bar code. If you submit your lessons via e-mail, you will receive your lesson grade in the same manner. Check your course guide to find out how to submit your lessons. Some courses have lessons that cannot be submitted via e-mail.
It is important to submit your e-mailed lessons to the proper address. The subject line contains all of the necessary information to route your lesson to your instructor for grading; if it is not completed properly, the lesson will be returned for correction.
Note: Some online courses allow you to submit assignments within a course system itself (e.g., WebCT, Course Compass, ICON, and Moodle). Read your assignment instructions carefully.

Resubmit Lessons
You may resubmit lessons only if your instructor has indicated you may or must do so. Failure to resubmit lessons marked “must resubmit” on the Lesson Cover Sheet could cause a delay in your examination being sent or result in a zero for the lesson grade. Since lessons could count as much as 75% of your grade, failure to resubmit lessons could cause a failing grade for the course.
MIDDLE SCHOOL AND HIGH SCHOOL POLICY FOR RESUBMISSION OF LESSONS AND APPROVAL TO RETAKE FINAL EXAMS
Resubmission of Lessons
Students will be allowed to re-submit up to half of the lessons in a course provided the lesson grades are below 70%. Exception: No instructor is required to approve re-submission of lessons if the students submitted 75%-100% of the course at one time without the benefit of feedback.
Approval to Retake a Final Exam
Any student who scores below a 70% on a final examination will be allowed to re-take the final examination provided the score is at least 55%. Exception: No instructor is required to approve a re-take on a final examination if the students submitted 75%-100% of the course at one time without the benefit of feeback.

Check Progress Online (www.courseportal.ode.ttu.edu)
Whether you are enrolled in a print-based or online course, our convenient online CODE Course Portal lets you view
courses in which you are enrolled, check grades, request examinations, and more. It's simple!
- Visit www.courseportal.ode.ttu.edu.
- Your password will be sent to you via e-mail when you enroll in your course. Login using your first and last name (the name you registered under, not a nickname or initials), and your password.
- If you do not have a password, just follow the instructions under the gray Login button.
- Once you're logged in, your courses will display on the right-hand side of the screen. Only current or recently completed courses will display. Expired courses, courses completed more than a month previous, and Credit by Examinations (CBEs) do not show up on the CODE Course Portal.
- Notice each course has several icons associated with it. To learn more about what the icons represent, just read the descriptions in the center of your screen.
In accordance with CODE policy, grades are posted only after a) an assignment is logged as received by CODE and b) the grade is posted by the instructor. Instructors have five working days from the date the lesson is received in our office to assess each assignment, regardless of how the assignment was submitted (via Moodle, WebCT, e-mail, fax, standard mail, etc.).
The CODE Course Portal is available only to students enrolled in for-credit courses (not CBEs) for the duration of official CODE course enrollment(s). The CODE Course Portal is for student information purposes only and does not constitute a contract, official grade report, transcript, or any other negotiable instrument. Grades appearing on the CODE Course Portal are posted solely at the discretion of CODE instructors and staff. Account "holds" or policy violations may delay or even prohibit grade posting or release. Students providing valid e-mail addresses typically receive CODE Course Portal access instructions via e-mail within 24 hours of registration. Only one username and password will be issued per student. Students attempting to establish multiple usernames and/or passwords waive all CODE Course Portal access rights. Usernames and passwords are administered, authorized, and managed by CODE personnel, not instructors
