LIBRARY SERVICES
(available only to college students or students taking dual-credit courses)

Toll-free reference service: 888.270.3369 (available during normal operating hours) Outreach & Distance Education students enjoy many of the same library services offered to traditional students.
  • TTU Libraries check-out - generally three-week loan on most items. Items will be mailed to students living outside the city of Lubbock.
  • Online and telephone renewal for items already checked out.
  • Electronic reserve
  • Free copying of items within Reserve that would otherwise be checked out in-house (old tests, articles, etc., with the exception of books)
  • Document Delivery's Interlibrary Loan service is available for articles not owned by the TTU Libraries, which usually are delivered electronically. Students are encouraged to use their local library for books.
  • Document Delivery's Library Express is a service available for items owned by the TTU Libraries. Items are shipped free, but students are responsible for returning items.
  • Texshare Card Service (if enrolled as Texas Tech University student)
  • Access to same electronic resources as in-house library patrons
  • Access to media materials in the Main Library Digital Media Studio (DMS) Collection (three-day check out could be extended to five or seven days to compensate for delivery and return of item)
  • 24-hour e-mail "Ask a Librarian" service. Most responses are within 24 hours. Online reference chat service.
  • Introduction to Library Research (LIBR 1100) is available to Distance Education students as section 270.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SERVICES

If you are currently enrolled in an academic, online course through Outreach & Distance Education, you will be provided with the following services.
  • IT Help Central - www.helpdesk.ttu.edu
    IT Help Central is your single point of contact for computer support and TTU connectivity issues.
  • eRaider Account - Your TTU Electronic Identity - http://eraider.ttu.edu
    Your eRaider account must be used to access IT services and other TTU systems and resources; upon registration, you will be assigned a username and activation code. You must then set your own secure password. Details are included on the eRaider website.
  • Computer-based Training - www.cbt.ttu.edu
    Over 2,600 self-paced, interactive, online training courses provided at no additional charge. Course topics include a wide variety of professional topics; such as various basic and advanced technology skills, personnel management, financial management, and ethics.
  • Safe Computing Practices Information - http://safecomputing.ttu.edu
    Learn to protect your IT resources and data! Site also includes recommended safe computing proactices, upcoming events, and additional resources. We also encourage you to review the TTU IT Security Policies.
