About Space Planning & Inventory

Space Planning & Inventory (SPI) is responsible for efficient and functional space planning solutions for the 9.5 million square feet owned and operated by TTU while balancing the needs of the university as a whole. SPI is also accountable for the development and maintenance of the TTU Internal Space Model, space performance metrics and key performance indicators for efficiency. This includes supporting the Space Allocation Committee, maintaining the Facilities Inventory, executing Relocation Services, providing Graphics support, managing the General Purpose Classroom Project and overseeing Event Scheduling.

The Space Planning function of SPI provides support, strategic planning, and functional solutions for the university's spaces as its colleges and departments grow and change. The development of the TTU Space Model and the Space Management Usage Guide (SMUG) were derived from the methodology used by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB).
