Applied Linguistics

A master of arts degree in Applied Linguistics is offered through the Department of Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures. Students may select a 36-hour nonthesis or a 30-hour plus thesis option in either general applied linguistics or in teaching English as a second or foreign language. Faculty from six departments offer courses that may count toward the degree.
