College of Business Administration

Scholarships awarded through the dean's office of the College of Business Administration are based on academic achievement. A limited number of scholarships are available. Awards are usually between $200-$500 for the academic year. Generally, students whose cumulative GPA is below 3.0 are not considered.

All students in the college are considered for scholarships awarded through the dean's office and are evaluated on the basis of their cumulative grade-point averages and completed semester hours. Application forms are available in the Undergraduate Program Office.

All entering freshmen are considered for scholarships that are awarded through the dean's office and are evaluated on the basis of SAT1 and ACT scores, high school grades, and rank in class. There is no formal application process for entering freshmen wishing to apply for scholarships awarded through the dean's office.

Scholarship Awards

For entering freshmen in the college who have demonstrated outstanding scholarship. Amount is $500 for four years.

Accounting Scholarship

For accounting majors who evidence excellence in scholarship. Amount varies from $300 to $2,000.

Administered by Director of Accounting Programs. Application deadline: February 15 for following academic year.

Robert D. Amason Outstanding
Senior Award

For a graduating senior who has maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA, has been nominated by at least one marketing faculty member, and who has demonstrated an exceptional aptitude for a marketing career during his or her undergraduate program. Given each fall semester, amount to be determined by the area.

Administered by the Area of Marketing.

American Association of Petroleum Landmen Endowment

For junior and senior petroleum land management majors who evidence excellence in scholarship and leadership. Amount and number vary.

Established and administered by the American Association of Petroleum Landmen Education Development Fund. Application should be made through the Area of Management.

Amoco Foundation, Inc.,
Scholarship Endowment

For juniors and seniors, any majors, with a minimum 3.0 overall GPA. Participation in an active civic or professional organization required.

Administered by the Undergraduate Scholarship Committee.

AT&T Graduate Scholarship

For graduate students in the college. Amount is $1,000.

Beta Gamma Sigma Scholarship

For a business administration sophomore or junior initiate into Beta Gamma Sigma whose scholarship, extracurricular activities, and leadership give promise for future success in business. Amount varies.

Elizabeth and I. Wylie Briscoe Chair in Banking Scholarship

For undergraduate or graduate students majoring in finance. Amount ranges from $500 to $1,500 (up to two awarded each year).

Scholarship Endowment

For junior or senior petroleum land management, geology, or petroleum engineering majors. Eligibility is based on academic performance along with a proven commitment to a chosen field of study. Application should be made through the specific area of study. Amount is $1,000.

Established by the Snyder Chapter of the American Petroleum Institute. Administered by the Office of Development.

James I. Campbell Endowment Scholarship Fund

For all majors. Based on academic excellence. Award is $200 minimum.

City Bank-Lubbock Scholarship

For undergraduate or graduate students majoring in banking, finance, or agricultural finance. Amount is $500 each (two awarded each year).

Solon Clements Jr. Scholarship Endowment Fund

For all majors. Based on academic excellence. Award is $200 minimum.

For senior marketing majors with a 3.0 minimum GPA and who have been determined to be in need of such financial support. Amount to be determined by the area. Award is given each spring.

Dean's Scholarship for Graduate Studies

For graduate students entering the M.B.A. or M.S. degree programs in the college. Eligibility is based on academic performances, GMAT test scores, community activities, and work experience. Amount is $1,000.

Every application to the Graduate School, College of Business Administration, is automatically considered for this scholarship.

For undergraduate MIS majors. Amount and number vary.

Finance Association Scholarship

For undergraduate or graduate student majoring in finance. Amount ranges from $500 to $1,000 (one awarded each year).

Frito-Lay, Inc. Scholarship

For marketing majors planning to pursue careers in consumer good sales, product management, or institutional sales. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA, exhibit leadership abilities in either campus organizations or with a part-time job while at Tech, and possess the personal qualities which indicate success in a marketing career. Four awards, amount to be determined by the area.
