Plug In, Make A Difference, Find A Place

This brochure is designed for those parents who students are considering Texas Tech as their university of choice or are brand new to Tech. Texas Tech is a special place that truly values parents and the involvement they bring to the university community. Parents have a integral place within the fabric of what makes our university great!

Parenting From A Distance

Whether the distance is two miles or 900, being an involved parent is crucial to the success of a college student. Many times, relationships between your student and you as the parent will change and grow. The goal is to ensure that this change and growth is as positive and constructive as it can be. Several topics are listed here for you to gain perspective and find comfort in the feelings and emotions that go along with having a college student away from home.  

Scholarship Application

The Texas Tech Parents Association is proud to offer many Tech Parents Scholarships for Texas Tech University and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center students. Applications are due the first of February each year. All are encouraged to apply. The deadline for the 2009-2010 Tech Parents Scholarship has passed, and the recipients will be notified via U.S. Mail after April 4, 2009. Watch for the 2010-2011 application here in December of 2010.

Road Raiders

Texas Tech parents have volunteered to help students traveling on the road to/from Texas Tech, whether students are in need of a rest break, assistance with their vehicle, or directions. Parents and family members can join Road Raiders when registering as a member of the Texas Tech Parents Association. Those participating in the list will have their name, city, and phone number available for Texas Tech students to search by city from their wireless devices and is always available for download via this web site.
