Strive for Honor Week is April 4th - 8th. There will be activities each day of the week for students to participate in, including movies, bone marrow drive, Raiders Who Rock reception, free t-shirts, and more. From massages to mountain biking, Rec Sports offers many services to students
|
| April will fly by quickly for your student with lots of papers and tests. One great stress relief is a massage. You can purchase a gift certificate for your student for an hour massage by a licensed massage therapist in the Fitness/Wellness Center of the Rec Center. It's convenient and easy. Cost is $40 per hour. We will mail the gift certificate to your student and (s)he then makes an appointment at his/her convenience. Major credit cards accepted. Cal (806) 742-3828. Trip costs include transportation, food, gear and trip leaders. April trips include backpacking, mountaineering, canoeing, rock climbing, mountain biking and hiking. Lynda.com features online video tutorials

What can students do when they need to learn new software? The Texas Tech University Library offers patrons access to Lynda.com, an online video-tutorial library featuring software from Adobe, Apple, Microsoft and more that allows users to learn the latest tools and techniques in business, digital media, design and development. Users can choose from more than 40,000 online video tutorials to learn about digital photography, Web design and development, motion graphics, Excel and much, much more. Free access to the Lynda.com all-you-can-learn online software training library is available from any public computer in the Library or the Architecture Library. Patrons in the main Library also may access Lynda.com from their own laptop within the building or from their iPhone. No log-in is necessary. [ return to top ]

Senior recognition ads now available in The Daily Toreador

Family members and friends now have the opportunity to purchase congratulatory ads for publication in special graduation editions of the Texas Tech student newspaper, The Daily Toreador. "Parents now can honor their Red Raider in their own personalized way," said Dawn Zuerker, associate director for Student Media. "Through our special recognition ads you can tell the world just how proud you are of your graduate, using your own words and photos. It's a really fun way for friends and families to spotlight their graduate as they finish their college years at Texas Tech." The Honor Your Red Raider editions will be published on May 5 to recognize spring and anticipated summer graduates. Five ad sizes are available, with prices beginning at $75. Tech Parents general membership and board meetings scheduled for April 2nd

Tech Parents General Membership meeting: Tech Parents will host the general membership meeting directly following the Saturday, April 2nd Scholarship Breakfast, Merket Alumni Center. The meeting will begin at approximately 10:30am. All parents are invited to attend. The meeting will feature an update on Tech Parents activities and programs, future initiatives, and volunteer opportunities. Tech Parents Executive Officers and Board of Directors meeting: Tech Parents Executive Officers and Board of Directors will meet following the general membership meeting on Saturday, April 2nd, Merket Alumni Center. The meeting will begin at approximately 11:00am. If you are interested in serving as a board member, please attend the meeting. Tech Parents thanks its spring break bus trip chaperones

The Texas Tech Parents Association would like to give a big "Thank you!" to the chaperones who helped make our Spring Break Bus Trip a success. Our chaperones were Susan Armanovs, Danny Vasquez, Egwu and Nwakaego Nkama, Carolyn Ortega, and Enna Post. The Texas Tech Parents Association would like to congratulate its 2011-2012 scholarship recipients: Tanner Adams, Sanger Tech Parents recieved over 1,500 applications for scholarships this year.
