Lubbock Community Theatre presents "Blithe Spirit"
Friday, Feb. 23rd, Saturday, Feb. 24th, and Sunday, Feb. 25th at 7:00pm. Tickets $10 or $15. The smash comedy hit of the London and Broadway stages, this much-revived classic from the playwright of Private Lives offers up fussy, cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine, re-married but haunted (literally) by the ghost of his late first wife, the clever and insistent Elvira who is called up by a visiting "happy medium," one Madame Arcati. As the (worldly and un-) personalities clash, Charles' current wife, Ruth, is accidentally killed, "passes over," joins Elvira, and the two "blithe spirits" haunt the hapless Charles into perpetuity. C.A.T.S. Playhouse presents "Boeing Boeing"
Friday, Feb. 23rd, Saturday, Feb. 24th at 7:00 p.m. Tickets $15/$18. This 1960's French farce adapted for the English-speaking stage features self-styled Parisian Lothario Bernard, who has Italian, German, and American fiancées, each a beautiful airline hostess with frequent "layovers." He keeps "one up, one down, and one pending" until unexpected schedule changes bring all three to Paris, and Bernard's apartment, at the same time.
