Lubbock Community Theatre presents "Blithe Spirit"
Friday, Feb. 23rd, Saturday, Feb. 24th, and Sunday, Feb. 25th  at 7:00pm. Tickets $10 or $15. The smash comedy hit of the London and Broadway stages, this much-revived classic from the playwright of Private Lives offers up fussy, cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine, re-married but haunted (literally) by the ghost of his late first wife, the clever and insistent Elvira who is called up by a visiting "happy medium," one Madame Arcati. As the (worldly and un-) personalities clash, Charles' current wife, Ruth, is accidentally killed, "passes over," joins Elvira, and the two "blithe spirits" haunt the hapless Charles into perpetuity.  Tickets and more information: https://lubbockcommunitytheatre.

Lubbock Chorale's Annual Gala
Saturday, Feb. 24th, 6:30 p.m. McKenzie-Merket Alumni Center.  The Annual Gala serves as the Chorale's most important fundraiser for scholarships. This elegant evening event, with the audience seated at tables of eight, will be held in the lovely ballroom of the Texas Tech University McKenzie Merket Center and will include a full dinner menu. Patrons will enjoy entertaining cabaret music performed by the Chorale, soloists, guest artists, and a jazz combo. Prior to the concert portion of the evening and during intermissions, the audience will peruse a very special exhibit entitled A SOUND INVESTMENT, along with raffles of donated items, that help fund our singing scholarships for students. Ticket sales will close at Select-A-Seat, online, and at our outlet locations on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 6:00PM.  For more information and to purchase tickets, visit https://www.lubbockchorale.org/concerts/tickets.aspx. VIP ticket purchasers will be given priority seating.

A Tribute to Haggard, Strait, and Jones
Saturday, Feb. 24th, 7:30 p.m.  Cactus Theater, 1812 Buddy Holly Ave.  Tickets $20. When you think of males in country music, there is no question three names pop up: Merle Haggard, George Strait and George Jones. These three singers have influenced the country music style more than any other group of artists combined. Three regional performers have come together to pay tribute honoring these country music icons. Join these Cactus favorites: Will Bannister, Danny Cadra, and introducing future star Hayden Spears for his Cactus debut. All backed by the Lubbock Texas Rhythm Machine with special guest Megan Poppe on fiddle and West Texas legend Steve Williams on electric and steel guitar.  For more information and to purchase tickets, visit http://cactustheater.com/
