University Vehicles

Service parking is available for Texas Tech vehicles at most buildings on campus. Service parking spots are intended for vehicles frequently driving around the campus throughout the day that need a close parking spot to any building on campus.

How It Works

Employees parking a University vehicle should utilize a "service vehicle" space when possible. When service vehicle parking is unavailable, you should park in the following areas (in order of importance):
  • Time Limit
  • Visitor
  • Park and Pay
  • *No Parking Zones
*There are some No Parking Zones that a service vehicle can park in (example: some curbs) but do not park in one without consulting University Parking Services first.

Don't Make it Complicated...

  • Park in designated service areas.
  • Parking is controlled by signage. There is often more than one type of parking space in a lot. So watch for the signs! Don't park in fire lanes, disability spaces or reserved spaces.
  • If you are parking a departmental vehicle overnight, it should be park in the back of an area reserved lot or a service space, if possible.
  • If all service spaces are taken, you can park in time limit, visitor, park and pay or on-street.

Note: You should never park in a Fire Lane, Disability or Reserved Space. Even though it is a University vehicle, it will be subject to impoundment if parked in one of these areas. The driver is held responsible for all citations and impoundment fees for University vehicles.

Campus parking spaces are a valuable resource for the University community. All employees are encouraged to walk, take the bus or bike to their destination as often as possible. This page only hits the highlights of the parking rules. It is your responsibility to make sure you have read and understand the official policy on supplemental parking passes.
