Park and Pay System
A "park and pay" system for visitors to the Texas Tech University campus is in effect. Without a valid Texas Tech parking permit, anyone who parks in designated visitor parking spaces during the day in certain lots will be required to pay.

The Park and Pay Concept
-
The Park and Pay concept was approved by the Texas Tech University System Board of Regents in December 1999. The visitor fees help distribute the costs of maintaining quality parking more equitably among all users. The bottom line is the park and pay fees will mean smaller future parking permit cost increases for Texas Tech students and employees.
|
Cost
-
$1.20 per hour, up to a maximum of $7.20 per day.
|
|
Times and Days
- Those spaces normally reserved for permit holders during the day also will be subject to the park and pay fee from 5:30p.m. - 8:00 p.m. for non-permit holders. Park and Pay will not be in effect on Saturdays and Sundays.
|
Permit Holders
- It's important to note that if a car has a current, valid student or faculty/staff parking permit, they will not have to pay the extra fee to park on campus as long as they are in their assigned lots. Permit holders using a visitor's slot before 5:30 p.m., must pay the fee. After 5:30 p.m. permit holders may park in any lot for free except for residence hall lots and the first three floors of the garage. The residence hall lots and first three floors of the garage require a valid permit for that lot 24 hours daily starting at 7:30am Monday straight through to 5:30pm Friday. The 4th floor of the garage is available to any valid permit holder after 5:30pm on weekdays and on weekends free of charge.

Park and Pay
- Most park and pay lots require patrons to note the number of the space, which is painted on each space, and enter the number into a keypad at each pay station. The pay station will print out a receipt for your records.
|
Pay and Display
- The 4th Floor of the Flint Ave. Garage, band lot and Rec Center lot will operate as a pay and display lots. In these lots, patrons will be asked to place their printed receipt on the driver's side dashboard. Citations will be issued for anyone without a permit who has parked in the affected lot without paying the fee. It is not our intent to collect additional fees from permit holders. We only are trying to collect fees from those who use the parking system but do not have permits.
