Alternatives to Parking On Campus
While we offer many options for parking on Texas Tech campus, we realize that sometimes someone cannot afford a permit or does not own a car. Below are some alternatives for students wishing to travel to and around the campus without needing to buy a permit or drive their car.

BusAnother way to access our campus is by bus. Lubbock's CitiBus offers bus service from various high-density student locations. You may ride any Citibus on any route for free by displaying your student ID. More information about campus bus routes and schedules can be obtained from CitiBus or Student Government. |

BicycleYou do not have to park on campus to get to your classes. If you live in the vicinity of campus you may elect to ride your bicycle. The City of Lubbock has designated several bicycle routes leading to campus and Texas Tech is in the process of improving it's bike route system. Just remember that your bikes must be kept in the bike racks located outside the classroom buildings. You may not lock your bike to signs, poles, trees, or buildings. |

WalkIf you live in the vicinity of campus, you may elect to walk. The major intersections coming onto campus have pedestrian crossing assitance, including audible crossing devices to aid the visually impaired. Additionally, there are a number of signalized pedestrian only crossings. Your safety is important to us. Remember that a crosswalk won't protect you from a distracted driver.
