Student Information
Located in north Lubbock in the midst of recent construction projects, the Texas Tech Campus area is often congested, making commuting and parking a challenge. To make the campus as accessible as possible TTU provides a variety of parking and transportation options. Understanding your options will make campus access easier, and following the parking regulations will promote safety.
A permit is required to park on the campus at all times, unless the vehicle is parking in a park and pay lot, paying the hourly rate. Permits may not be loaned, sold or transferred to other persons. The permit holder is responsible for citations issued to any vehicles bearing his/her permit regardless of vehicle ownership.
PARKING PERMITS
Purchase
To purchase a permit, registered students must provide:
- Photo identification (TTU ID or driver's license).
- Vehicle information (license plate number, make, style, and color).
- Current residence hall assignment (if applicable).
Purchase of a permit does not guarantee a parking space on campus. A parking permit signifies that an individual has been granted the privilege of parking a motor vehicle on university property. Also, only students with a special TTU permit (e.g. supplemental passes) and the permission of the entry station personnel may pass the main campus traffic control stations from 7:00 A.M. until 5:30 P.M., Monday through Friday (excluding most university holidays).
Lost or Stolen Permits
Lost or stolen permits should be reported immediately to UPS and may be replaced for a $2 fee at the University Parking Services office. A damaged permit may be replaced at no change if the pieces showing the permit number are returned to UPS.
Holiday & Special Event Parking
Parking rules and regulations are in effect whether or not classes are in session. However, on official university holidays, only those restrictions that regulate parking AT ALL TIMES remain in effect. Lots and or garages are subject to closure during inclement weather, athletic events or other special events and vehicles may be subject to periodic relocations for university sponsored events.
UPS makes every effort to notify all permit holders of special events** that effect parking.

Students with Disabilities Parking
University Parking Services offers a disability permit for students with permanent and temporary disabilities. These permits are issued to students who have a verifiable disability. Students must bring a State Placard and their Driver's License to the UPS office.
