StrengthsQuest
The StrengthsQuest Program was adopted by the Division of Student Affairs in the summer of 2004. The StrengthsQuest concept was developed by Donald O. Clifton, Gallup International Research and Education Center chairman, and Edward Anderson, Ph.D. who has taught education, psychology, and leadership at UCLA and Azusa Pacific University. The StengthsQuest book and online program share both author’s vision to help current and prospective college students improve their academic performance and increase their persistence to graduation by helping them learn how to identify their greatest talents, then build upon those talents to develop and apply strengths.

The StrengthsFinder activity consists of a 30 minute online assessment that will reveal the participants top five themes of talent then provides an additional 31 potential themes in rank order. Conceptually the StrengthsQuest Program asserts the following six assumptions:
1.You have a group of talents within you.
2. Your greatest talents hold the key to high achievement, success, and progress
to levels of personal excellence.
3. Becoming aware of your talents builds confidence and provides a basis for
achievement.
4. Learning how to develop and apply strengths will improve your levels of
achievement.
5. Each of your talents can be applied in many areas including relationships,
learning, academics, leadership, service, and careers.
6. As you develop and apply strengths, your achievements will increase and
you will experience greater and more frequent successes.
A curriculum outline and an educational program have been developed by StrengthsQuest that facilitate student understanding and learning about their individual StrengthsQuests talents. This program is currently being administered throughout the Tech campus by the Division of Student Affairs staff.
