How much does it cost to use the Learning Center?
All Learning Center services are free to Tech students. You have already paid for the service through your student service fees.
What time is the Learning Center open?
Monday - Thursday 8 am to 8 pm and Friday's 8 am to 5 pm. Tutors are available at 9:00 am Monday through Friday.
Can I use the Learning Center if I am not a Tech student?
No - departmental services are available only to currently enrolled students of Texas Tech University.
What services does the Learning Center offer?
Peer Tutoring, Computer/Video Lab, Academic Skills Assessments, and Testing Accomodations for students with disabilities . We also have individual study areas in a quiet atmosphere.
Yes - please see the tutor schedule posted on our website (Current Tutor Schedule) for a list of subjects offered.
No - just stop by any time we are open or you may call 742-3664 to check on available services.

Can you guarantee one-on-one tutoring?
No - with so many students coming in, it is difficult to accommodate one-on-one tutoring for everyone on a walk-in basis. We plan to have some appointment based tutoring available in Spring 2008. Watch our website for more information.
Does the Learning Center offer private tutoring?
No, not at this time.
Does the Learning Center offer any help for standardized tests?
Yes - we have several CD-Roms and study guides for tests like the GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, MCAT, LSAT, ExCET, and others. Software may be used in the Learning Center computer lab, while study guides may be checked out for 7 days.
Does the Learning Center give Texas Success Initiative (TSI) or CLEP tests?
No - these tests are offered by Academics Testing Services in 214 West Hall.
No - as long as there is a computer and the appropriate testing software test is available. Very rarely are all the computers or CDs being used at any one time.
No - but we do have textbooks available for a 7-day period checkout that could serve as another resource for study.
What do I have to do to get help with my study management skills and/or test taking skills, etc?
You can take an Academic Skills Assessment to find out the areas you need help in or just talk to our Academic Skills Advisor about a specific topic.
When will Dr. Dini's Biology 1403/1404 videotapes be available to watch?
The Dini videotapes are copied right after his class. It will usually be available that same afternoon.
Can I take a Dini video home to watch or make a copy of it?
No, under no circumstances my Dr. Dini's lectures be reproduced or relocated.
How many Dini videos may I watch at one time?
As many as are available.
Can I get credit for my sorority or fraternity?
We are not able to give credit. Due to limited staff, we are not able to actually monitor what type of services you are receiving and the amount of time spent in actual studying.
What do I have to do to take my tests at the Learning Center?
