The SI Program at Texas Tech is based upon the SI Program created at the University of Missouri Kansas City.
Supplemental Instruction sessions are free weekly peer-led review sessions for students in historically difficult courses. Professor-recommended SI Leaders will help you take the information given in the lecture and the textbook and put it together in a way that you can learn it more efficiently utilizing activities and worksheets to help with difficult concepts.
Research shows that students who attend SI sessions regularly average one half to one full letter grade higher than their classmates who choose not to attend.
SI sessions start the second week of classes. Each SI Leader will set up 2 or 3 review sessions a week at times based on student input. The SI Leader will announce the session times and locations during class and the schedule will be posted online at http://www.depts.ttu.edu/passcntr/si/currentSISchedule.php.
