Dr. Kiser is the Director of Support Operations for Academic Retention (SOAR) and the Tech Transfer Acceleration Program (TTAP). She received her Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts, and Doctorate of Education at Texas Tech University. Dr. Kiser has worked with Texas Success Initiative for five years before becoming Director of SOAR and TTAP in May 2009. Dr. Kiser manages four programs within the department of SOAR; The Learning Center, Supplemental Instruction, Texas Success Initiative, and Programs for Academic Development and Retention. Dr. Kiser has worked at Texas Tech University for twelve years. Dr. Kiser is an active CASA volunteer for seven years, loves Red Raider sports and Texas Tech University, and she will always be a Red Raider! Wreck'Em Tech!


Patrick Bohn

Patrick Bohn is the Assistant Director of The Learning Center within the SOAR department. In his position, Patrick is responsible for the day-to-day operation of The Learning Center and its tutors. Patrick loves working with students in several different capacities. He previously worked for the Recreational Sports Department (2004-2007). Patrick received his BA in Business Administration from Washington State University in 2002 and his MS in Sport Management from the University of Kentucky in 2004. He is currently pursuing his Ed.D in Higher Education here at TTU. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children when he is away from the office. He is an avid college football fan!


Corie Hernandez

Corie Hernandez is the Unit Coordinator for Supplemental Instruction. As a first generation college student, Corie received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Education in Counselor Education from Texas Tech. She enjoys helping SI Leaders master their techniques of facilitating peer-led review sessions for some of the university's most difficult courses.


Stacy Elliott

Stacy Elliott, M.Ed., LPC. is a Senior Counselor for the Learning Center. Stacy is a Lubbock native and a Texas Tech University graduate. She taught health education at Monterey and Coronado high schools and served as a counselor for South Plains College prior to joining Texas Tech University. She has been in education for over 25 years. She obtained her Master's degree from Texas Tech University in Educational Psychology and is a Licensed Professional Counselor with the state of Texas. As a senior counselor, Stacy works with students struggling to find successful learning strategies and behaviors towards academic success. She provides personal counseling for students dealing with the stress of balancing higher education, work, friends, relationships, family issues, or other personal issues that might impede them from reaching their goals here at Texas Tech University. Stacy is active in the community and loves TTU sports.

Josefina Hernandez Perez is a Senior Business Assistant for the Learning Center. She grew up in the Lubbock area and attended school at Lubbock Independent School District. She joined Texas Tech University after working in the telecommunications industry for the past 16 years. She is looking forward to helping the staff and ensuring that students reach their collegiate goals through the services provided by the Learning Center. She understands the importance of higher education for all students attending Texas Tech University. She is a true Red Raider Fan!!!


Sylvia Graham

Sylvia Graham holds a BS in computer science from Eastern New Mexico University. Before joining the Texas Tech family she worked for 11 years in the aerospace industry, writing software for the International Space Station. She is currently pursuing a second bachelor's degree from Texas Tech.
