TTAP Financial Aid

All financial aid is processed through SPC while in TTAP.

 

Students may apply for Federal Financial Aid while in TTAP. Refer to the FAFSA website for additional information and to apply for Federal Financial Aid. Students are responsible for tuition and fees to South Plains College and Texas Tech University. Students must select South Plains College as their awarding school in their FAFSA application. Students are strongly encouraged to start on their FAFSA as soon as possible so that they may receive their aid at the earliest possible time. Viewing South Plains College Steps to Apply for Financial Aid page can help in the financial aid process. All aid that comes from FAFSA will cover South Plains College Expenses. Any aid that is remaining will be sent to the student in the form of a refund. It is the student’s responsibility to use the refund to cover expenses owed to Texas Tech University.For those that are not eligible for FAFSA or aid does not cover all expenses for South Plains College and Texas Tech University, a payment plan for each institution may be arranged. You may contact South Plains College and Texas Tech University for questions about making payments to each institution. Course Registration

Students must set up eRaider Account prior to registering for classes (see Accounts - Getting Started). To register for classes using Raiderlink, visit the TTU Raiderlink website, click on the My Tech for Student tab, and select "Add or Drop Classes" in the Registration section. Students are only permitted to register for TTAP classes. Please use the course list provided by your TTAP advisor to register for classes.

 

Course registration is completed through TTU.

Accounts - Getting Started

Five to seven days after being accepted into TTAP, students can set up their eRaider account. Visit https://eraider.ttu.edu/signin.asp and click on Activate Account. For more assistance, call IT Help at 806.742.help.

 

After recieveing an acceptance letter from SPC, students should visit https://myspc.soutplainscollege.edu to review their MySPC account. Student username and password can be found on the SPC acceptance letter. Through MySPC, students can access Campus Connect where they can pay for classes, view financial aid status and review grades.

 

Athletic Fees

TTAP students are permitted to attend TTU Athletic events after paying an optional athletic fee. To find the form follow the link http://www.depts.ttu.edu/studentbusinessservices/ and click on the Forms bullet in the bottom box. The correct form will be the second one listed “Facilities Elect to Pay Form”. Make sure you check the TTAP Athletic Fee. Save and send the form as an attachment to sbsmedia@ttu.edu. Fees will be added to the students TTU bill.

Housing/Student Learning Community

TTAP students live and take classes on the TTU campus. Once accepted into TTAP, students can apply for housing and sign up for the TTAP Learning Community at http://www.housing.ttu.edu/. The TTAP Learning Community is spread throughout Wall/Gates and Hulen Clement. Student typically room with non-TTAP students they select or who are matched through housing. TTAP students living in the LC are provided study hall hours, study groups, residential tutoring, special events and motivation. Students who live locally or who meet other conditions for housing exemption as outlined by the TTU Student Housing office may apply for an exemption from living in TTU housing and the TTAP Learning Community (students must have an active eRaider account to sign up).

Applying to TTAP

Complete online TTAP application at ttap.ttu.edu and submit to the TTAP office. Once application is received an advisor will review the application as well as infromation submitted to TTU prior to applying to TTAP. If not included in origional TTU application, students are asked to submit: All test scores (TAKS, College Placement, SAT/ACT), letters of recommendation, meningitis form and a college essay.

 

Complete SPC application at http://www.southplainscollege.edu/ by clicking on Apply Now. Students will not be permitted to register for classes until the following has been provided to SPC: final high school transcript with graduation date, meningitis form, all test scores (TAKS, College Placement, SAT/ACT), and transcripts from any previous college attended (including dual credit).

Benefits of TTAP

 

TTAP is great for students who could benefit from more direct attention and smaller class sizes. This program is designed to support a student’s academic, personal and social well-being. The program is intrusive but provides a structured environment designed to develop skills characteristic of successful students. In TTAP, students are required to participate in:
- Mandatory orientation prior to the first day of class (dates to be announced on website)
- Bi-monthly advising appointments
- Counseling and Student Mentoring as assigned during the semester.
- Study hall based on academic needs (minamally two hours per week)
- Exceptional attendance to classes. TTAP students will not exceed 3 absences per course 3 hour course and 2 absences for a 1 hour course.
- 2.5 GPA with 12 college credit hours

Students in TTAP wishing to apply for disability services will register with both the SPC and TTU disability services offices. Disability services information:

Students approved for services will receive a Letter of Accommodation (LOA) from SPC for classes through TTAP and a LOA from TTU for the IS 1100/1101 course. It is the responsibility of the student to submit the LOA to instructors and their advisor.
