Summer/Between Term Insurance:
To enroll in or change your insurance coverage, you will need to log on to 'ERS Online' on the Employees Retirement System (ERS) website. For further information regarding this process and when changes may be made, contact your TTU Personnel Benefits or HSC HR Benefits Office or see their website:
 
Insurance premium deduction information feeds electronically from ERS into the payroll system. Changes to your payroll deductions will be effective on the first payroll processed after information is received from ERS. On occasion, it may be necessary to bill you or take a double deduction from a paycheck for missed premiums or to refund a premium, depending on when premium information is received and when coverage is effective.
 
  • Insurance refunds are processed at the beginning of each month. The refund is processed based on when the information was received in the Payroll Department. If your paycheck is direct deposited into your bank account, your refund will also be direct deposited. If your paycheck is not direct deposited, your refund will be mailed to the home address on file in Payroll.
Important Reminder: Check your earnings statement monthly to make sure that your insurance deduction information is correct. This is especially important at the beginning of a new plan year, after you have made a change to your coverage, or if you are a new hire and your premiums are being deducted for the first time. If you find a discrepancy contact your TTU Personnel Benefits or HSC HR Benefits office.

If your insurance has been cancelled or reduced for non-payment of premiums and you want to find out if your coverage(s) can be reinstated, contact your TTU Personnel Benefits or HSC HR Benefits Office. See above.
If you have not received your Health insurance card(s) and your coverage is already in effect, contact your insurance provider:

SKIP: When your application is approved, ERS will be notified. Your eligible children will automatically be enrolled as your dependents in your health plan with the SKIP rates effective on the first of the month after ERS is notified. Premiums will be reflected on your paycheck for the earnings that are for the month the SKIP became effective. Example - if the SKIP premium is effective September 1, and you are monthly paid, the SKIP premium would be reflected on your October 1 paycheck, which is your September earnings. If you are paid biweekly, the SKIP premium would be reflected on the last paycheck you receive in September. If your deduction is not reflecting the SKIP rate, contact your TTU Personnel Benefits or HSC HR Benefits office. See above.
