Completed forms should be submitted to your TTU Personnel Benefits or HSC HR Benefits Office. Failure to submit a retirement enrollment form will delay processing of your pay check.
Generally a change will be effective on payrolls processed after the first of the month following receipt of the form in the Payroll Department.
It is very important that you complete and submit a company application to establish an account with the company when starting an ORP or TSA deduction. The Texas Tech forms that you submit to your TTU Personnel Benefits or HSC HR Benefits Office only affect your payroll deduction. If you do not establish an account with your company the money will be returned to Texas Tech since they will have no account to deposit the money into. Therefore, your money is not earning anything. When the money is returned, the employee is contacted and instructed to contact the company or a company representative to establish an account. Once the account has been established, the Payroll Benefits Accounting office will return the money to the company to be deposited into the account.
Texas Tech does not have information on your account such as investments, balance, growth, losses, etc. You will receive statements from your ORP and TSA companies that provide this information. Companies send out statements at different times, monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or annually. You will need to contact your company to find out how often their statements are generated.
