Health and other insurance benefits for employees and retirees are subject to change based on available State funding. The Texas Legislature determines the level of funding for such benefits and has no continuing obligation to provide those benefits beyond each fiscal year.

When you are hired by the State, you are provided with an online account to access your ERS online account. Your User ID and password are initially the same: Your Social Security number without dashes. This is the number you use to access ERS online. Once you have logged in, however, you should change your password, which can be a mixture of numbers and letters from 8-12 characters long. Your password is the same for ERS online and the ERS OnCall telephone system.
