ESC Responsibilities

Each department on the Texas Tech University campus has an assigned Department Employment Services Coordinator (ESC) to direct new employees through the New Hire process and to assure compliance with federal mandates.

 

ESC Training:
Click Here to Register for “I9, Immigration & Payment Processing" training. (Required class for all new ESC’s.)
ESC Responsibilities include:

 Distribute, collect, and verify I9/New Employee Packet forms.
  

 Ensure that the Employment Eligibility Verification form (I9) is completed and signed by new employees within the first three days of employment in accordance with Federal guidelines.

 E-Verify (if applicable). If position is funded with a federal contract (i.e., GSA, DOD, NASA, etc.), e-verify will be required. E-verify confirmation document must be attached to the e-Paf.

Forward completed I9/New Employee Packet forms to the Personnel Records Office: Drane Hall Room 155, Mail Stop 1093.

  Prepare the Personnel Action Form (PAF) place the new employee on payroll. In some departments, the ESC coordinates new hire actions and documentation with the PAF preparer. For more information, see 'Personnel Action Form' on the page.
  

 

 Documents required with the PAF:

 Copy of Social Security card. (Missing Social Security card).

 For Staff - a copy of employment application & requisition number.

For Faculty (Professor, Asst, Assoc Professors) - a copy of the Vita.
