| Brief Tutorial for Returning Managers - If you have used the Matrix before. |
| |
| 1. | Save the 'Hiring Selection Matrix' to the Hard Disk on your computer. |
| |
| 2. | Before you open the saved file, go to Start/Programs and open Microsoft Excel (Your saved file is an Excel file). |
| |
| 3. | In MS Excel, go to 'Tools' on the Menu and then to Macro/Security. A Security Dialog box will open. Select 'Security Level' tab and change the security level to 'Medium.' Click 'OK.' |

| 4. | Now open the file (Hiring Selection Matrix file) from the location, where you saved it. A dialog box will pop-up. Select 'Enable Macros.' |

| 5. | After the 'Hiring Selection Matrix' file opens, click on the 'Start' button (on your top left corner of screen). |
| |
| 6. | Enter Selection requirements in the vertically aligned cells. |
| |
| 7. | Assign weights to those requirements in the cells beneath. |
| |
| 8. | Enter Applicant names. |
| |
| 9. | Assign weights to the individual applicants against their names. |
| |
| 10. | You can enter 'x' or 'X' anytime in the 'Minimum Requirements' column or 'Reference Score' column, against the applicant name to reject a candidate. By entering 'x' in any of those columns, you will make the total for that applicant 0. |

| 11. | After entering Scores for each applicant Hit the 'Sort' button, to rank the applicants. Based on the 'Application Score,' you can choose the applicants for the interview. |

| 12. | After interview, assign scores in the 'Interview Score' and 'Reference Score' columns and hit the 'Sort' button again to rank the applicants. |

| 13. | Make the final selection based on the final ranking. |
