Review job duties, performance standards/PDQ

The process to open a position begins with the Personnel Description Questionnaire (PDQ). Each position should have a PDQ associated with it. The PDQ should be updated (OP 70.12), and is used in the preparation of the Texas Tech Jobs Online Requisition. The PDQ also provides for establishing performance standards to be used as the basis for the Performance Appraisal.

The PDQ outlines the Minimum Qualification requirements established by Personnel Compensation, used in describing the knowledge, skills, and abilities associated with the position, and in conducting interviews. The PDQ should describe what is needed for the applicant to be successful on the job.. A good PDQ describes the job, and not an employee.
