Gas Well Deliquification School

Tuesday, April 20

O. Lynn Rowlan - Echometer Company

Jim Lea PL Technology, LLC.

Cleon Dunham Oilfield Automation Consultants

This one-day short course will cover the essentials of gas well deliquification.  U.S. companies operate more than 450,000 gas wells in the U.S.  At least 80% of these require deliquification to obtain optimum gas recovery and production.  At least fifteen artificial lift methods are used to deliquify gas wells.  Deliquification of gas wells is critical for maintaining gas production rates when the gas wells become liquid loaded.

This course will cover:

An introduction to gas well deliquification.

How to determine when a gas well begins to liquid load.

The importance of maintaining critical velocity to remove liquids from the wellbore so gas can flow at economic rates.

An overview of the many artificial lift methods used.

Focus on the most widely-used methods:  sucker rod pumping, plunger lift, use of chemicals, compression, and gas-lift, with an overview on design, surveillance, troubleshooting, and problem diagnosis.

Automation of gas well operations to optimize gas well production and artificial lift operation.
