Rebecca Larsen is an Assistant Professor of Practice for the Department of Political Science at Texas Tech University in Waco. She received her B.A. in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Texas at El Paso, her Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin, and her Master of Public Affairs from the University of Texas' LBJ School of Public Affairs. She has a background in criminal justice social work, research, and policy advocacy. Her other previous work includes political campaign consulting, nonprofit management, support for the City of Austin's budget department, teaching undergraduate government courses, and crisis intervention for sexual assault survivors.

She teaches undergraduate courses in public policy and administration, and she has been published by the Institute of Urban Policy Research and Analysis and the National Association of Social Workers. She also coordinates the political science department at Texas Tech's Waco campus.
