Curriculum Vitae

Glen Biglaiser is an Associate Professor of Political Science at Texas Tech University. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1996. His areas of specialization include comparative politics, Latin American politics, and economic and political issues in the developing world. He is the author of Guardians of the Nation?: Economists, Generals, and Economic Reform in Latin America (University of Notre Dame Press, 2002). His work has appeared in journals such as Comparative Political Studies, International Organization, International Studies Quarterly, Political Research Quarterly, American Politics Research, and Latin American Research Review. He is currently working on several projects that examine foreign direct investment, sovereign bond ratings, the IMF, and democratization. He teaches undergraduate courses on Latin American politics, international political economy, the politics of development, and American public policy. He teaches graduate courses on comparative politics and political economy in Latin America.
