Curriculum Vita
Dr. Carie Steele was born and raised near Lincoln, Nebraska. She attended George W. Norris High School in Firth, Nebraska, where she graduated in 1999. After graduating, she attended University of Nebraska at Kearney, where she earned a BS in political science. Subsequently, she completed two years of graduate work in political science at the University of Kentucky. In 2005, she transferred to the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where she earned her doctorate in political science in 2011.
Dr. Steele’s research is directed at questions of international and comparative political economy and how the interaction between international and domestic politics affects the supply and distribution of global public goods --- notably in the field of health. Her research has appeared in journals such as International Studies Quarterly and Democratization. She will be teaching courses on public policy theory and analysis, as well as health policy and politics.
