Commencement Information

It is to begin making plans for your graduation Texas Tech at the end of this spring. We hope that you and your family and friends plan to attend Commencement in the United Spirit Arena at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2004.

Between 11:45 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 15th, please enter the United Spirit Arena through the large utility ramp at the northeast corner of the complex (the ramp extends from the parking lot into the lower level of the arena). Locate the Arts and Sciences table for the portion of the alphabet including your last name. There you will be given a card indicating your name and seat number. Go to your assigned seat in the practice court, complete the card (to be given to the Commencement reader as you approach the platform), and be ready to march into the arena. Please do not bring with you coats, purses, or other items as there will not be a place to keep them and they can be a distraction during the ceremony. Please do not bring cell phones or beepers to the Ceremony.

Policy of the University Convocations Committee prohibits Commencement participants from decorating their caps and gowns or wearing any accessories that are not an official element of the academic regalia. Academic Honor cords and medallions may be worn because they are official.

Please invite your family and friends to attend. They should go directly to the United Spirit Arena in time for the 1:30 program.

Congratulations on your achievement!
