Elize Bisanz
Elize Bisanz studied Art History and Aesthetics in Lüneburg (Germany), Communication sciences in Berlin and Philosophy in Paris, at l'École des hautes études en sciences sociales. She has a master’s degree in Culture Science (University of Lüneburg) and a Ph.D in visual communication (TU Berlin). Since 2000 she has been professor for art and visual studies at the University of Lüneburg in the Faculty of Social, Culture and Education Sciences. Bisanz is a member of Texas Tech’s Institute for Studies in Pragmaticism.
The main topics of her seminars and publications deal with interdisciplinarity as a scientific method to approach cultural communication problems. She has organized several pathbreaking conferences in interdisciplinary scientific encounters between neurosciences, art history and philosophy. Bisanz visited Texas Tech's Institute for Studies in Pragmaticism as a Fulbright scholar, and has recently published a study edition of Charles S. Peirce’s Monist Series.
