Tips for Creating Graphics Files
- To save time and money, please proofread your
copy before submitting it.
- Always send a print or hard copy of your file
with your disk
- Create your files in the actual page size as
the finished piece
- We accept PDF files, but you should set your
preferences to enable us to read them. Call Jenise
Haynes Wooten at 742-2768 for details
- Submit your original art files with the page
layout file, including all photos and logos
- Make your photo files the same size as the
photo in the finished piece
- Scan photos at 300 dpi; Scan line art at 1250
dpi
- Make any enlargements or reductions
during scanning so the image is 100% in your files.
- Use the exact color in your files as you want
on the printed piece. For example, if you want PMS 185
in printing, use
PMS 185 in your layout instead of generic red.
- Remove all unused colors from your files.
- Print your file as color separations to be
sure the colors are correct
- Convert all color from RGB to CMYK for quality
printing
- Always select an
actual font from the menu rather than “B” for
bold or “I” for italic
- Submit your files on the following media:
- Iomega Zip 100 and Zip 250
- CD and DVD
- Flash Drive
- 3.5 Floppy
- e-mail
- FTP Site
