Historically Underutilized Busniess (HUB)
Demonstrating our Support in Helping Minority Enterprises Achieve True Parity in the Marketplace
Texas Tech University is committed to providing procurement and contracting opportunities for businesses owned by minorities and women. It is our policy to create an environment that will enhance HUB (Historically Underutilized Business) participation in state procurements and contracts. Consequently, Texas Tech University will make a good faith effort to increase the award of goods, services, and construction contracts to HUBs in accordance with the Texas Procurement and Building Commission.
Becoming a certified HUB provides your company increased exposure to buyers across the state. The list of certified HUBs is used by state government agencies, local cities, counties, transportation authorities and an array of other public and private organizations which are mandated to engage in competitive bidding by including minority and women-owned businesses in their requests for bids.
Those businesses interested in HUB certification or reviewing procurement opportunities at Texas Tech, please contact Lorenzo “Bubba” Sedeno or Irene Montoya with our HUB Operations office.
