DaNay Phelps | danay.phelps@ttu.edu

Senior Administrator
Community College & Transfer Relations
DaNay Phelps is the Senior Administrator for the Office of Community College & Transfer Relations. She is a native Texan from West Texas: born in Amarillo, lived in Springlake-Earth, then landed in Lubbock.
DaNay graduated from Coronado High school in Lubbock and received her Bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University in 1989. The focus of her undergraduate degree was psychology and philosophy. DaNay began her Texas Tech career with the Associate Dean's office in the College of Arts and Sciences in August of 1990. She moved to a position as the Advising and Training coordinator for the Texas Academic Skills Program office in 1991. When ACTT opened its doors to students in the fall of 1992, DaNay was hired as one of the original staff as an academic advisor.
DaNay has also coordinated New Student Orientation for the College of Arts and Sciences, managed the Graduate on Time (GOTT) Contract program, and invested in the network of academic advisors on the Texas Tech campus.
DaNay has the pleasure of assisting the Coordinator of the Freshman Seminar Program. As the Assistant Coordinator of IS 1100-Freshman Seminar, she assists first year students to find an IS 1100-Tech Transitions course that fits their needs.
She has worked for TTU for many years in a variety of roles. The common theme appearing throughout her work is student advocacy, support, and guidance. She enjoys assisting students and their families as students discover their academic potential, define their educational plans, pursue their career goals.
As the Senior Administrator for the Office of Community College & Transfer Relations, DaNay will bring her focus on student success directly to bear on those Red Raiders transferring to us from other educational institutions. She accomplishes this role by advocating for the Transfer Student on the Texas Tech Campus, and by facilitating partnerships and articulation agreements with the many schools in which students begin their career in higher education.
