University Discipline Committee

Charge:

The University Discipline Committee is empowered to conduct disciplinary hearings on student cases referred to it in accordance with the Code of Student Conduct as described in the Student Handbook.

Appointment:

The director of student judicial programs will appoint committee members from nominations received through standard procedures. Appointments are for one (1) year. Committee members may be reappointed for consecutive one (1) year terms.

Operating Procedures:

The committee is responsible to the director of Student Judicial Programs but will report to the dean of students.

The committee shall develop its own operating procedures in accordance with the Code of Student Conduct and subject to the approval of the director of Student Judicial Programs.

Chairperson:

The director of Student Judicial Programs shall appoint a chairperson(s) from the full-time faculty and/or staff members.

Membership Code:

  1. Five (5) full-time faculty members
  2. Five (5) full-time undergraduate student members
  3. One (1) graduate student member

A quorum shall be four (4) members, provided that at least one (1) member is present from each of the three (3) representative categories. Student Judicial Programs' representative(s) shall serve without vote as the resource person for the committee.
