Core and Multicultural Curriculum Submission Moratorium

In the Fall 2019 term, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, per legislative direction issued in Senate Bill 25, convened a working group representing all in-state public institutions or systems to discuss a proposal to substantially overhaul the core curriculum. If the proposal is adopted, it could be effective as early as the Fall 2021 term.

Given that we do not know whether the working group will recommend endorsement of the proposal described in the bill, TTU's Core and Multicultural Curriculum Steering Committee, supported by members of the Academic Council, has implemented a moratorium on submissions to include new courses in the core and/or multicultural areas for the 2021-2022 cycle. Proposals to make changes to existing core and/or multicultural curriculum courses will still be accepted and should follow Curriculog Process 1.6 (or 1.7, if applicable).

Additional information about the duration and/or lifting of the moratorium will be added to this site as it becomes available.
