When Disaster Hits Home: The Science of Recovery

4-5 p.m.
March 6
Room 151 of the Teaching, Learning and Professional Development Center, main floor of the Library

Presented by Ali Nejat, associate professor of civil, environmental and construction engineering

When disaster strikes, how do we approach it and recover from it? Whether it's a devastating hurricane, a massive wildfire or an epidemic, can we plan a successful recovery by predicting the outcomes through properly modeling the actions and interactions of involved individuals/factors? Join Ali Nejat as he explains how the micro-level modeling of individuals can help us predict their macro level impacts on communities.

Pizza and refreshments will be served.
