Professor Bell teaches torts and business torts.
Professor Bell earned a Ph.D. in English literature at the University of Virginia and taught college English before returning to the University of Virginia for his law degree. After a clerkship on the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, he moved his family to Dallas and began 20-plus years of practice as a commercial litigator.
Professor Bell brings to Texas Tech much legal experience and his continued academic interests, concern business litigation in general and competition law (including antitrust) in particular. His practice included various forms of complex commercial litigation, including class actions, and involved a wide variety of industries and disputed business practices.
Professor Bell is admitted to practice in Texas. He is also admitted to practice in the northern, western, southern and eastern districts of Texas, and the Fourth and Fifth Circuit Courts of Appeal.
