Dr. Song Lak Kang serves as an assistant professor of atmospheric science at Texas Tech University. Dr. Kang received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in atmospheric science from Yonsei University, Korea. He received his Ph.D. from Pennsylvania State University. After completing his Ph.D., Dr. Kang worked in postdoctoral fellow roles for the Department of Meteorology at Pennsylvania State University and also for the National Center for Atmospheric Research's Advanced Study Program in Boulder, Colo. Dr. Kang's research interests include atmospheric boundary layer, wind power meteorology, moist convection initiation, the interaction between earth's surface and the atmosphere, turbulence and numerical weather prediction.
