Dr. Yunjuan "Lily" Luo is an assistant professor of journalism. Her research interests include:
- political communication
- international communication
- new media
- communication theory, particularly agenda-setting theory
Professor Luo's current research focuses on the social and political impact of new media and the influence of mediated national images on public opinion and foreign policies. Her work has appeared in refereed journals such as International Communication Gazette, Feminist Media Studies, and the Chinese Journal of Communication.
Professor Luo was awarded several competitive fellowships and grants. She received the prestigious 2009 Chinese Government Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Student Abroad for her academic excellence and research achievements.
She earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Hunan University of China in 2000 and Master of Arts in mass communication from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore in 2004. Professor Luo received her doctorate in mass communication from Indiana University Bloomington in 2011.
