Laura Cardella is an assistant professor in finance in the Rawls College of Business.
Her research focuses on:
- the strategic interaction of firms and their risk management practices
- competition among trading platforms
- the changing environment of the stock exchange industry
She received her Ph.D. from the University of Arizona in 2012 with a dissertation that studies how firms' supply chain interactions affect their credit risk. Prior to her doctorate, Cardella also earned an M.S. in quantitative financial engineering from Oklahoma State University. She attended the University of Mississippi as an undergraduate, receiving a B.A. in both mathematics and economics.
