Matt Stock

Matt S. Stock is an assistant professor at Texas Tech University in the Department of Health, Exercise & Sport Sciences, where he will be teaching and developing courses within the strength and conditioning curriculum. His research interests include:

  • adaptations to strength training
  • muscle fatigue
  • issues related to the recruitment and firing characteristics of individual motor units

Stock completed his undergraduate degree at Florida Atlantic University in 2006. He then earned his master’s degree in exercise physiology from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 2008, and completed his doctoral work at the University of Oklahoma in 2012.

Prior to his doctoral studies, Stock worked as a strength and conditioning coach in both Florida and Nevada. He has been a certified member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association (CSCS,*D) since 2005.

Stock’s work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Strength & Conditioning Research, Muscle & Nerve, and the Journal of Neuroscience Methods.
