Jared Dempsey is an assistant professor of addictive disorders and recovery studies in the Department of Community, Family, and Addiction Services. He received his doctoral degree in clinical psychology at Texas Tech University in 2007. He completed his clinical residency and postdoctoral training at the Medical University of South Carolina. Dempsey’s primary research interests involve the development of a biological marker of addiction. His clinical and research activities have included a variety of addictive substances (e.g., alcohol, cocaine and nicotine). He is particularly interested in mental health comorbidity in addiction.
