Kristi Gilmore is an assistant professor of public relations. She has more than 20 years of experience in corporate communications, crisis management, nonprofit communications, strategic public relations and corporate social responsibility. Her corporate experience includes 14 years with HealthSouth Corp., where she served as vice president of corporate communications throughout the company’s highly publicized financial crisis and recovery. She received her Ph.D. in May 2013 from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, where she also served as an adjunct faculty member in the public relations department. Her research interests are crisis communications, corporate reputation, and the evolution of corporate public relations. She has been accredited in public relations through the Public Relations Society of America since 2002.
