Paul Reinsch is a professor of practice and teaching film in the Department of Theatre & Dance. He earned a Ph.D. in critical studies from the University of Southern California, Master of Arts in cinema studies from New York University, Master of Arts in literature from George Mason University, and Bachelor of Arts in literature from Abilene Christian University. Reinsch is a film historian with a special interest in film sound. He taught U.S. and international film history, film theory, film genres (the musical, the western), and courses on Kathryn Bigelow and Brian De Palma. He is the author of “A Critical Bibliography of Shirley Jackson” and essays on early rock films, Tyler Perry, Werner Herzog and the origins of American punk rock.
