Dr. Walker's research addresses slavery in Jamaica and the larger Atlantic World. In particular, she explores the experiences of women slave owners and how their experiences affected conventional ideas about women's roles and larger economic shifts. Walker received her PhD in History in 2014 from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. She was the recipient of the Melon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowship from the American Council of Learned Societies for 2013-2014.
