Dr. Graybeal uses media management and economic theories to study issues of media sustainability, and the ways in which sustainability is strategized in a changing marketplace. This has encompassed research on youth audiences, new business models, micropayments, media entrepreneurship, social television and binge watching. Graybeal received his PhD in Mass Communication from the Grady College of Journalism & Mass Communication, University of Georgia and is co-founder and co-owner of Lede, LLC., a social media strategy and business model innovation consultancy. Before joining TTU, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor in the School of Communication at the University of Hartford.
