Ryan Seay is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Accounting in the Rawls College of Business. He joined Texas Tech University in August 2014 and is currently teaching Intermediate Accounting I. Ryan received his Ph.D. from The University of Mississippi, where he received the Patterson School of Accountancy Doctoral Student Teaching Award. He also holds a Master of Professional Accountancy and a Bachelor of Arts in Business from Murray State University. Prior to his doctoral studies, Ryan worked for Ernst & Young and a private healthcare company in Nashville, Tennessee. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) in the state of Tennessee. Ryan's primary research interests involve accounting issues with the healthcare industry. His dissertation examines financial reporting manipulation of religious and secular nonprofit hospitals. Ryan lives in Lubbock with his wife and two sons.
