Nathaniel Hall, an expert in canine olfaction or the sense of smell, has been named an assistant professor in Texas Tech University's Department of Animal and Food Sciences, effective June 1. The Florida native indicated that he is interested in continuing his research efforts in olfaction in dogs with a focus on applications for pet and working dogs. One of his primary goals at Tech is to help develop a research and teaching program in companion animal science. Prior to joining the Tech faculty, Hall served as a post-doctoral scholar at Arizona State University. He received his bachelor's degree in microbiology and his master's degree in psychology from the University of Florida. His doctorate in psychology is from the University of Florida.
